Emily Barker-Live london 2010
On The Gravestones By The Cathedral By Neil Simpson
The Souls who attended Saint Peter’s Church
Every Sunday
Solid Souls
Who Hoped their bones
Would occupy the churchyard
Forever
But no, their dust is carted elsewhere
They form a stage
For angry midnight lovers
The feet of rushing bankers
The names, the date of birth and death
Is erased by the living.

About the After Storying Sheffield Club (A.S.S.C.)
We are a group of five people, all of whom are long term N.H.S. “Service Users” coping with (on a good day!) both mental and physical health issues. We first met up whilst studying on the ”Storying Sheffield” course at The University of Sheffield and decided on completion of the course to build upon our experiences of telling the City’s and its peoples stories.
We will be using any medium we consider appropriate To: Paint, Sculpt, Write, Photograph, Etch, Speak, Scribble or Scream the stories. On our journeys we will be inviting people to make their contributions towards this ongoing Blog and also towards Exhibitions to be held in the City. We are particularly (but not exclusively) interested in the stories of those made silent by long term mental and/or physical illness (not forgetting their families, their carers) [[ ”The outsiders”]] those made to be “OTHERS” “LEFT- ON -THE-OUTSIDE- OF” to“LIVE” — “SOMEWHERE— ELSE” in an exclusion born of prejudice and ignorance…
